Building the Business Case for Sustainable Procurement in Australia – Edition 2019 is out!

Climate Change, Modern Slavery, Circular Economy, Reconciliation… Sustainability is a growing area of attention for most Australian organisations. However, many people still do not clearly understand the business imperative that sits behind integrating sustainability into procurement and supply chain management practices.

After 4 years supporting the development of ISO 20400: 2017 – Sustainable Procurement – Guidance, members of the ISO 20400 Australian Committee have produced Building the Business Case for Sustainable Procurement in Australia – Edition 2019, which you can find on www.iso20400.org under the Tools and Guides section.

The Business Case Guide is a guidance document that helps sustainable procurement champions create impactful business cases for use within their organisations and amongst their peers. For each of the seven sustainability issues covered in the ISO 20400, the document gives an overview of the current global situation followed by the Australian context. Each issue is accompanied by examples of organisational threats and opportunities, impactful case studies and a list of useful links and resources!

We are confident that this guide will provide you with the foundations to building an effective sustainable procurement business case and help convince your organisation to implement practical and relevant sustainable procurement practices.
